the round end has wear that looks like it slotted into a larger tube...
the spike tips look worn...as if coming into contact on a regular basis with an outside force..
Copper can turn green.....but bronze would hold the design better.....imo.

My 1st...off the cuff thought would be a Central American mace head......but I could be looking at something from Nepal...just as easy !!!

Let's see what others have to say !!

Thank you komokwa for you reply the tips of the spikes has a copper color to them where it got rubbed so it looks like copper but the weight seems so heavy for copper it is 2 pounds 2.8 ounces so that why I was guessing bronze. But who knows thanks again for the response. Matt

I think its some sort of censer . it would have had a pole . Maybe for carrying in a procession.

Thought it was either a meat tenderizer or a brain smasher but I think I'll go with johnnycb09.

Funny - just saw a similar one on Pawn Stars tonight - it is a Chinese bell. May be old or may be newer depending on the metal composition. The "expert" on the pawn stars said if it was copper and tin then it is old bronze but if copper and zinc (which the item was) then it is a newer reproduction (he had some kind of hand held metal composition detector). That's all I got.............

Funny... The Chinese were using copper/zinc(brass) alloys since the 1300's if not earlier.
