It is a sweetie, I can't believe it has survived without those delicate toes broken off!

Can remember these Peking glass figurines showing up here in the '80s (though may have been imported elsewhere earlier), one dealer friend even had a boxed set of various critters in 'jade', 'rose quartz', and 'amethyst' colors, packaged by some American 'collector's society'. Would have originally had a wooden base with little indentations for the feet - let me hunt around, may have an image of one with the base...

Leftovers from a thread on the old eBay board where the poster refused to believe that her near identical and clearly glass bird was other than rare, finely carved jade...

Have you shone a UV light on it?. Wonder if it glows!

You got it and that's why the tootsies didn't break off. Great source.

That is definitely a base just for that piece. I'll assume this is most likely vintage 80s ish unless better evidence is uncovered...thank you!

Forty years ago, they must have appreciated creating this joyful little piece. No seam lines, polished and nice detail.

Here is a set of pink horses in original box, seller describes as '1950s', which seems unlikely to me - I have items purchased new in the '80s-'90s in the same boxes, and the US embargoed trade with Communist China from 1950 to 1972, but it was really the late '70s-early '80s before the US market started seeing the huge uptake in gift items from the PRC:

Another set of horses, in green, dating seems more likely - noted as purchased in China and in display case for thirty years:

Apparently still made, this Amazon seller has horses and elephants:
