Purchased another of these and can't make out the artist's sig. Anyone recognize it or have a guess? Thanks! IMG_20201217_171036.jpg IMG_20201217_171027.jpg IMG_20201217_171000.jpg IMG_20201217_170730.jpg IMG_20201217_171105 (1).jpg

I see 1978. You could try searching Inuit carvers 1978

    How big is that?
Does that say "44662 / H" (and "copyright sign" and "78) at the bottom?

It appears to be a "Z" and "Anders" but not the ordinary signature of Anders Zorn, wonder if it's when he was younger and did not sign it the same "Zorn" as I saw online?

I saw not everything he carved was intricate.

Yes, it does appear to say "44662 / H © 78 at the base. Anders Zorn sounds like a good possibility. I'll see what I can find on this artist. Thanks. Oh and it's about 8" long x 1.5" at the thickest and 2.5" tall.

IF it is his name, he signs it differently since 1978. I found both ornate carvings and simplistic carvings by him.

It is a charming but rather generic Sanikiluaq sculpture. The two syllabics that I can make out seem to read Ju Pi.

Thanks. I am wondering if you think this one, despite the chipping, is also worth about a bill like other one you commented on a while back, and if that other one is also Sanikiluaq? https://www.antiquers.com/threads/inuit-seal-stone-carving.52574/#post-2560557

Worth about the same. The other one doesn’t look like it comes from Sanikiluaq, the stone is “wrong” for Sani...
