I was wondering if anyone might know the age on this bowl? I'm not sure if the mark is upside down or not if so ill turn it around. Thanks for any info.

Chengua - ming dynasty mark, late 15th century. Not sure if of the period, honorary marks used also in Qing and modern pieces. Could be legit Ming IMO. I'm no expert though, maybe fire off an inquiry to Sotheby’s and/or Christie's...

I believe the term for how the enamels are done on these type of pieces is called Doucai, again, not an expert but your bowl doesn't scream modern to me. Where'd you get it? Can you post a straight on shot of the dragon please?

I won it at a local online auction. It was in a box mixed with other random items. Here is a pic of the dragon.

Yeah I'd fill out the sotheby's inquiry form and send them pics... maybe you have something good there...maybe not, but I think it could be.

Was just thinking - this just might be Japanese 18th or 19th century Arita-ware. They used the Chengua mark sometimes...still send it and see what they say.
