    Hey heey!
    I am so happy to have found this forum!
    So a little about me...
    • I'm based in London, UK
    • I'm obsessed with 90s R&B ( random, I know :playful: )
    • My love for antiques came from my love for stories. I love that each piece tells a story of some sort.
    • I've purchased some antiques recently and finding their origin is more challenging than expected. However, I am not giving up and its comforting to know that I could ask questions in this forum. ( ps: I get the feeling I will be asking tones of questions lol)
    I'm looking forward to learning and growing with you all. Thanks for having me!

    Welcome, your ladyship. We love seeing new things, especially when there's a question we can answer/puzzle we can solve. Are you still a generalist? Or are you zeroing in on antiques of a particular type? Bet we have our share of R&B fans too, although for many the era will be earlier than the 90s.:joyful:

    :joyful:haha great music was also before the 90s...ahh so many great music back then!!..You see i'm what they call "an old soul" at heart.

    I still consider myself a generalist. However deep down I think Art ( from oil paintings, print, photography) would be the type of antique I would be zeroing in on. Currently I've been finding alot of Porcelain/ Pottery items.

    How about you are you a generalist?

    Over time, I have gone through various collecting passions. I do not collect antiques per se, although love old things I can actually use, such as my lap desk/writing slope, but my avatar shows you what I collect now. With one exception, all my cameos/intaglios are at least vintage, the majority, like Venus there, are antique, a few are antiquities. If your old soul has led you to acquire any, this former Motown girl invites you to share on the Cameo Show & Tell thread in the Jewelry forum. :happy:
