Need help

    i was passed this item down through the family but cannot find any information on it can anyone help me

    From the pictures shown it looks to be a Britannia Metal or silver plate open bowl with a pie crust edge.
    Quite common and not really worth a lot.

    Last time I checked, wasn't Britannia Metal (or 'EPBM') just another form of pewter?

    The EPBM mark on an item means that the base metal is britannia metal that has been electroplated with a silver surface. But yes "britannia" is a form of pewter.

    Now, this particular piece does not have that mark on it (at least not that I can see) so I am assuming that Davey's mention of britannia is a reaction to the dull grey color the bowl appears to be in the second picture. A better lit picture might give a more accurate sense of it.

    Not sure it will matter, since the marks are typical of UK electroplate marks.

    Hi and WELCOME @John Duke!! Does this clarify anything for anybody here?? Looks like there's a © under the B and above the 7......but then that mark could also be something else.....
