Could this be an Indian tribe pottery? About 15"hx6"w

    Not Native American. It's Mexican, commonly called opaque painted ware. It's from the Tonala area.

    Some modern Navajo pots are copying the general banded design and colors, but they are using purchased commercial greenware. Since the pots are made from a mold, you will see thousands of the same shape, even though the designs painted or engraved on each one may vary.

    These Mexican pots, however, were individually thrown on a potter's wheel. I don't know if it is still being produced, but it was especially popular in the 1940s/1950s.

    Pretty much "decorative value" only. There are collectors, but they will probably be looking for pieces without damage.
