    I promise it will get easier. For the members to best help you what is needed are clear, well-lighted, in-focus photos. Any marks and always the bottom. Here is a link to a post from a member who has been doing this for a while. I hope it helps you get a feel for what works best.

    Take another photo of the front - the back picture is good and now I can see it is older than I first thought - very difficult to see the front though. It is Chinese for sure though.

    The photo i was able to post was a GIF and is only one of front that is small enough to upload

    It is far too heavily compressed to see anything without myriad artifacts. The plate is 19th c Chinese, I could be more specific if you can manage to figure out how to take a detailed picture, like the back.

    Why are your pictures set up as GIFs and not JPGs? That could be part of the problem you are having with resizing and focus.

    All of my photos are jpgs except the one that could get uploaded which is a gif

    Okay. Do you have another picture of the plate front in jpg format that's in focus and that you have not played around with when trying to figure out resizing?

    How have you tried to resize your images?

    @anne dodds
    I have changed your title.
    Here’s some examples of Canton Mandarin plates, as @blooey described. E3620098-4FC0-4FDF-9F14-61109ACCDC6F.jpeg 34FED71B-A614-4B15-9584-78B9A3807EB9.jpeg
