Those look like German "stick legs" - sometimes, people call them "putz sheep".

Just so you know, the ones in good shape sell very well! (Check eBay!)

I have at least 100 of them in all sizes and colors. I love them!

Thank you! I don't respond often enough but thought I'd throw out a thank you. This information is valuable.

Here's a small part of my "flock" - mixed in with other "breeds":

When I was a kid, this is what I thought was meant by the line in Handel's Messiah: 'All we like sheep...'

I've gotten some nice things by not being the sheep that automatically turn right upon entry into events. ;)

And at double sided buffet lines as well! ;)

I've seen the white Putz sheep, and black, but never brown.
Do you think it has faded in the sun or was originally brown?

Also, I think the lion is very unusual.
Be sure to investigate the two before listing. They may have a lot more value.

I've gotten decent seats in movie theaters following this principle. Most people do seem to automatically go right when presented with the choice.

When I was even younger, I thought it was a rhetorical question: Are we like sheep?

Cluttered, they were brown from the start. I have a few of those, too!

    edited to add:
Is that a LION? I just thought it was a sheep missing some of its fleece! (It does seem to have an awfully long tail, however... I think more photos of that one are required!)

Thank you all for the input! I was curious about the "Lion" myself and thought the same thing, but that tail is indeed a little long. I will certainly look into these more. Since posting these I started to think they might go into my own collection, I tend to enjoy the little nic-nac stuff more than the flatware. I allready have the Mutt and Jeff figures claimed and a neat old telescope that's claimed as mine, even pilfered a jade elephant lol ;) . My dad told me I can have what ever I want so I'm going to be picking things out every now and then.

Well my first thought was a lion.
Now I'm wondering if he is a wolf in sheep's clothing-;):)

Your taste...is your taste....but if you could snag a few photo's...we might suggest something you'd pass over.....as something to consider....for the long game !

That would be excellent! I hate getting rid of any of it considering it's been around for a hundred or more years and my grandparents have had most of it for several decades..... only for it to be sold off. Any kind of advice is greatly welcome!!!

Keep anything that means something to you.
    Keep what you like.
If in doubt about something. Do not sell it now. Box it up and revisit in a year.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I thought it was just an obsolete way of saying "We all like sheep."
