    It's a tiara, Billy, not a crown.

    To me the middle photograph has a (slight?) resemblance to John C. Calhoun.

    Is there anything printed on the back of the card the lady is on?

    The "crown" looks like a fancy hair comb. Her outfit is ...confusing. That dress doesn't look high class, but she's wearing nice earrings and an expensive bit of lace. Photographer's props maybe?

    It is odd. She's wearing an ordinary day dress and rather luxurious accessories. Might be family heirlooms.

    Middle picture looks like John Brown who attack the US Arsenal in Harpers Ferry WV just prior to the War Between The States.

    We saw this photo on another thread and decided it wasn't John Brown.

    I wonder if the tiara is for a special occasion? She also could be minor royalty and not a princess. She has a bit of an Eastern European look

    Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

    Just FYI, for those who haven't read the other thread: that middle photo was issued by the R. J. Rankin studio of Martinsburg, Virginia.

    Having recently read a scholarly article about known photographs of John Brown, I'm positive this was not a photo of him.

    @billyd3us,
    I've been reading up on john w. Pendergast (he had a brother photographer too) did you get any stereoscopic photos of buildings in your cache of photos? They would be possibly valuable.
