Looks like something out of Lord of the Rings. The person I got it from thought it was early 20th century but was just guessing. Any ideas?

I'd guess Amphora repro, or inspired by Amphora, but WDIK? Is that a pencil mark near 12 o'clock in the last pic?

Thanks CD. I think it is a pencil mark but is no more readable in the flesh than what you're seeing in the photo.
Forgive my ignorance but what's WDIK?
Also it's got a tiny bit of crazing. At its worst (but still mild) on the base but a tiny bit on its handles too.

I love that vase! It reminds me of "alienware" which was produced in places like Czechoslovakia in the 1920's - 1930's. I've got a small collection of alienware but this is far cooler than anything in my collection. I think it's also a bit older than any of my pieces.

Alienware Don? That's a new one on me. Mind you, I know almost nothing about pottery.

Art nouveau amphora search seems to be giving me the most similar items.

Is this rough area anything? The photo is kind of fuzzy so hard to tell.

It does look like it came from the palace of The Alien Overlord. heeheehee

But really, it is fantastic! I would give it shelf space any day.

Ditmar Urbach, I'll bet. They did some glazes like this, the lizard look too, the foot is right and a lot of it isn't signed or is very indistinct underglaze. That's mad, that one.

I think CheersDears is onto something.
I can't find iridescent Czechoslovakian pottery. However, I can find Amphora iridescent pottery, and some of it has the little glass jewels imbedded.

In my short time here and all the new terms and names I have learnt never once would I have thought alienware would be one of them. I must say I do like it if it is time to Google.
