    Hi,
Looks like a "factory" painting to me. The "starving artists" group.

Maybe somebody will recognise the style off painting to a artist ? Here some clearer pictures off the name P1010182 (Medium).JPG P1010184 (Medium).JPG P1010185 (Medium).JPG

I see "G.K. Daum"? This is not tourist art (sorry Greg :) ) I get a 30s-40s feel from it. I think its lovely.

    Hi,
Check out Tahiti girls bathing. I have seen similar ones to this.

Gerspee was absolutely correct in saying this is Indonesian. The woman in the background is wearing a turban-like headscarf and a 'slendang' or shoulderscarf. Both are typically Javanese, and were also worn on Bali until the early 70s.
This scene was probably on Bali, although this could still be seen in some parts of Java in the 20th century.
The gateway in the background is not found on Tahiti. Most outdoor baths in Java and Bali have gateways.

"Ni Kenjoeng by lamplight" painted in 1945 by W.G. Hofker. Balinese Ni Kenjoeng is wearing both the headscarf and the slendang, the slendang would normally be draped loosely from shoulder to shoulder:

Thank you but any clue about the style off painting ? Looks a bit naive in style so maybe a link to a artist or group painting in this style?

It is not really naive, just not a top painter, I think. But a charming painting nonetheless, probably made by one of the many Westerners in Bali.
Just a clue as to the age. The girls in the foreground are wearing rolled up leaves as earrings, that means 1940s or earlier. They have big, stretched holes in their earlobes, and would wear the leaves most of the time, replacing them with earplugs on special occasions. Aristocratic women would always wear gold earplugs, of the type Ni Kenjoeng is wearing in the Hofker painting.

So you think maybe before the fifties made ? The canvas itself looks not that old to me ?

I have a Soejatno Koempoel painting from the 40s, I just looked at the back, the canvas doesn't look all that different from yours.

I haven't found a name GK Da... in the usual lists of Mooi Indië painters.
I also searched in Miguel Covarrubias' book on Bali, but no mention of a fellow artist with a name that could be your painter. (Miguel Covarrubias is credited with introducing Art Deco to Bali.)
