Featured Glass: is this Webb Burmese ??

    I don't believe its anybody's Burmese. Burmese is struck custard glass. The gold in solution comes out (turns red) when its struck. the above piece is not custard.

    I always thought that PeachBlow glass had to be a little "peachy". This vase is beautiful and I'm coming down on the side of Harrach. BWDIK?

    Isn't the butterfly a signature for Webb?
    Jules Barbe worked for other glass companies before working for Webb. Do the Harrach patterns have butterflies prominently displayed?

    I see what you mean about the numbering style. But if Barbe started in France and the design was his, would he have maybe numbered in this fashion?

    Only asking, because I don't know.
