Purchased this small ornament at a multi-dealer shop, silver colored about 2" long 1+" wide. It was described as 'Antique Kugel'. I thought it could be, the cap looked right but I can't find this shape in a search of Ebay or Pinterest. Is it a melon or a grenade;) Any idea who the maker is? Thanks

Dalek egg! How exciting.......should I crack it open and raise the pup as my own?

thanks INH, I know a bit about ornaments:)

welcome to the forum Joe:) I've never seen that shape in a true Kugel. I'm thinking your ornament was made in Japan, from the ornament shape and the flat ring on the top (circled in your photo I copied). Here is one that sold on RL.
But, I'm by no means an expert, you should ask on this FB group, they will know for sure

Thanks CxG, looks like the Japanese ornament on RL and not a Dalek egg after all. I'll take a look at the FB group. Thanks again!

to give you an idea of the ring and cap on a true Kugel. Caps can be switched out, but your cap doesn't look right to me.

Be careful - they can be a handful and awfully singleminded.

Thanks for the additional info @cxgirl. I joined and posted to the FB group.
As far as disappointment goes, I took a chance for 10$US. I can always try selling it in October / November.
