Have already sold one item from the church sale madness ( for £5 so only got a £1 to make up!)
These are the most interesting things, the Egyptian brooch thing is silver...should it have something where the hole is do you think? x x

This is super cute...the chain is marked 925 ,the cameo itself doesn't feel like plastic but don't see what else it could be as it's so teeny?

The front of this is HORRID. The back though is much prettier and it feels like silver...is it possible ( or likely) that it was older and someone glued those...bits on it?

I want to get those chips off...but don't want to ruin anything either, not that it'd upset me terribly to not see those things again ( think they are amethyst) but don't like wilful destruction. BUT I WANT PERMISSION TO RIP THEM OFF

I like the Egyptian style pendant as well. The marks aren't Egyptian, which doesn't matter at all. A nice Modernist design.
Yes, it would have had a stone, a turquoise maybe? It won't be easy to get a replacement, you could ask someone who works with gems.

That amethyst chip brooch is a Scottish souvenir. It is pewter and the backs are always decorated with scrolls. The chips are real amethyst.
It is up to you what you do with them, but this is how it is supposed to look. It is not something someone made in a shed.;)

Helmet shell. Modern resin can imitate the color really well but the flat back usually gives it away. When a section of helmet shell this tiny is taken from a large shell, it can have so little curvature that it is virtually flat, & do a pretty fair imitation of resin. :writer::turtle::happy:

Oh, you know I love it. Just lately noticing the market for cameos seems to be heating up, although what is selling best has changed somewhat since gold got so pricey. If I start fielding more queries, it will be another indicator that cameos are catching on once more.

Another observation about it. Either: the designer meant for it to be worn with the stem up; the maker was left handed; the pin assembly was attached upside down. They are always mounted for the convenience of the right handed.

I think the amethyst chips are deliberate. Sorry. ;) I don't see any Scottish symbolism in it at all. Those chip brooches were widely made as costume pieces in the 60s and 70s with all sorts of semi precious chips.

    Silver and marcasite ring.

    Malachite and silver earrings.

Love the Egyptian head and I think the gap is deliberate. Can you get a close up on the hallmark, honey?

    I don't remember anyone mentioning Scottish symbolism:confused:, which I don't see either.

My mother bought an amethyst chip pewter pendant with the same decoration on the back in Oban, Scotland, way back when. The seller said it was made locally, she even pointed in the direction of the manufacturer (which, to be frank, didn't interest me). She said they used Scottish amethyst, which is probably why it was sold as a souvenir.
I don't remember seeing any amethyst chip pewter jewellery with explicit Scottish symbolism, just with Scottish amethyst.

It is yours to do with as you please.
What would you do with it if the chips were off (not down;))? Maybe you have an idea to make it look pretty?

Well hehe I hadn't even thought that far ahead...just wanted to destroy the chips. I think I'll just leave it and let the next owner worry about it x x
