    What is this?

Hello. Can you also help me identify this item. It is gold-plated and about 8 cm high. Is it a seal? Thank you

    Welcome to the forum Gajdas.
It is a beautiful item. The animal is called Makara, a Hindu and Buddhist mythical creature for protection. It combines physical parts of other animals, like elephant, lion, dragon.
I can't see the detail of the base very well, the camera focused on your hand, not the symbol. But I think it is from India or Southeast Asia.

Thank you for the picture. I am sorry, I can't tell you more about it, I have never seen this particular item. I only recognize the symbolism.
I add your picture 'full image', maybe others will be able to find an item like it.

Thanks for the answers. I am sending a more accurate photo. According to me, it's a seal but it does not remind me of anything :) DSCN5754.JPG DSCN5755.JPG

OK, @GAJDAS, last one, just highlighted to accentuate what @Any Jewelry is, I believe talking about!!! And thank you AJ for explaining it!!! BTW, I'm seeing the 'creature', I think a couple of birds, and maybe a seal (ocean type!):happy::happy::happy: THAT'S what's been jumping out at me......

Kinda a Grecian key border on seal part, and the handle may be a mythical bird of sorts.
On the first pic I see dings or marks nears bottom.

A bit of confusion, I didn't explain it well, sorry about that.
The Makara is the animal shape of the entire thing, this one, with the trunk:

I have no idea what the decoration on the base is, so I didn't say anything about it. I doubt it can be used as a seal, because it doesn't have clear, sharp lines. If you put ink on that, or stamp it into sealing wax, people will only see blobs.
Although, @Aquitaine , your rendition of what it could be is very nice.:)
