Can anyone tell me about this chandelier? I had a large drinking glass before with the white outside & a red inside; someone called it a 'cut to red' or 'cut to ruby' (can't remember which).
The large 'stone' on the bottom is green like the rest of the chandelier - what is the green pieces in the lamp; is it a semi precious stone like a emerald?
What is this made of? Is it old or new? Is it French? Italian?
Also, it seems smaller than what I think of when I think of a chandelier; is that normal with these?
Finally, is it valuable?!I've had this a few months & basically forgot about it until I bought a new chandelier at a local thrift store a few days ago - when I went to put it away, there was the other one.
PS - Last pic is the new chandelier!
    Thanks, I appreciate any help!

No idea at all about lamp, but emerald is a precious stone; good ones are rare & can cost more than diamonds. Glass or enamel on the lamp, I would think.

Usually called Bohemian Glass. I've had piece with a label. This one is probably mid century. I may have my old photographs with the label. I'll take a look and post back if I do.

I know I had a piece that had a Bohemia label but I don't see my photographs. It might have back when I was using a Sony Mavica camera with a 3 1/2 floppy. I save photos of labels with a photo of the piece. Unfortunately, I don't have anything to read those floppy files.

That's a lovely chandelier, made by "casing" two layers of hot glass together, then when fashioned and cold, cutting away the outer layer to reveal the inner one. It's usually referred to as "cut and cased". Yours has been hand-enameled as well, in the floral and diapered embellishments. All-in-all a lot of very skilled and difficult work. Here is a video from Corning showing glass artist Bill Gudenrath using a similar technique at the beginning of the video.
