    It's a Mus
Late c19th pre-1910. Possibly Baccarat or St. Louis (if French) going by the musical movement. You'd need to find a stopper, larger than its original one, and have it ground down to fit.

Mermod Frères is Swiss, founded 1816 in Ste. Croix. practically all those movements were sold and delivered seperately to whomever needed them.
to find more eventually I'd needed a clear pic of the bottom.

That figures. Several Swiss watchmakers produced musical movements too and also automata.

those are automatons and not by watchmakers. the two industries have no widespread links. and frankly when it comes to Swiss products the AR "experts" are for the most part, completely useless.

I totally disagree. The experts that appear on the English AR are inarguably amongst the very best in the world. No if's or buts. And, 'sorry' but in this instance you are wrong.

true if the world was only consisting of GB, Simbabwe, Uganda and the Outer Hebrides.
adjucating a pocket watch to France that has an old cantonal Geneva mark is a no-go. speaking about a Jugendstil WMF piece and calling it Austrian for several times is out of question. etc..

Well, the majority of 'experts' on The AR England, are recognised worldwide. Some are Directors of Sotheby's, Christies, Bonhams etc. and/or authors of highly esteemed books & catalogues. Of course, they don't know it all (nobody does) and their words are not the holy gospel, but they certainly know more than most within their individual field of expertise.
