Bee Brooch Bead Help

Hi All,
what do think happened to the top of the 3 glass beads on the flower part of this brooch, has a rough texture to the finger tip. Something that would have happened after they were put in place?
any information appreciated

looks like bust or crushed.........sompin ain't rite!

 

Sure it's not a deliberate way of creating a satin finish on those beads, even if rough to the touch?

I just added another photo to try and show the beads Bronwen - they don't have a satin finish on them, deceiving when the light hits them, they are just a dark green glass

Looking at Aquitaine’s photo I agree it does look like it’s been near a high temperature heat source. Very odd.
If the rest of the brooch isn’t damaged maybe it was an end of the day bead or a second?

no damage to other parts of the brooch, so maybe they were like this when put together.
