Featured Chinese bowl, authentic? I guess the paint job seems a little slapdash on the bottom.

Also the apocryphal Quianlong mark, looks a little bit off. The character in the upper middle seems like the right hand side of it is way off but i dont know if that's just the art of it. 71400480_517EDD23122445FFB9E09556BC4A8FE0.jpeg 55610075_C1E56DA28E764A938D3E1067888A96E8.jpeg 34197572_8F9783F6B1644E6C8F94B9F470309C4D.jpeg

    Nice. About 1910 or so.

Genuine Chinese, I’d say Tongzhi (1862-73) period, typical enamels and shape. Google and eBay should come up with many similar examples. Yes, the decoration isn’t the best but pretty nonetheless. Such pieces have become quite sought after in recent years.

You may be right, but given the rather sketchy decoration, I would put it at late Guangxu. Just my opinion of course.

Well, you could be right but they are usually dated to the Tongzhi reign. The question is whether the style persisted into the 20th C. Of course, sellers like to claim the earliest date conceivable :cat:.

Looks like the ware that was made for the Peranakan/Straits Chinese community.
Maybe @Ken Yap can take a look?:)

MT or anyone: is there a particular name for this shape?
I think the Peranakan stuff does not have the apocryphal marks from what i see on ebay. But I am new to this

Sorry, I only just saw this. I would say Tongzhi period Chinese export porcelain.

Don't worry, I didn't see the post after mine either.;) Thanks for replying, and I agree, export, much to the Peranakan taste.
I probably wasn't very clear in what I wrote. I didn't mean that this was Peranakan made, but Chinese made, for export principally to communities of Chinese origin in other parts of (coastal) Asia, commonly known as Peranakan or Straits Chinese.:)
