Trophy from 1924 is it really?

I found this trophy at the thrift shop the other day.[IMG]
    It says "Polo Cup 1924".
I have been looking around online and found this (ended) auction on catawiki. https://auction.catawiki.com/kavels/189133-beautiful-big-trophy Seeing as I'm wanting to sell it I want to give a good description of the item. Now you should know that I know nearly nothing about antiques/vintage (but I'm looking to learn) and this just might be one of those items I picked up thinking "Oh that looks old, buy it!" that turns out actually being made like yesterday or worth nothing. :p
I'm also really not familiar with metals at all and the only thing I've found out is that it's made out of a non-ferrous metal. The trophy on Catawiki is a tad bigger than the one I have and I think they mean made by Riviera Maison. It is described as metal and is 10 times shinier than mine. Seeing as the one I have is much more worn could it be that it is the "same" item, but mine has just been kept less well?
I googled Riviera Maison and it turns out they have been around since 1948, so I'm guessing this trophy isn't actually from 1924. Is there a way I could find out this item's age and know if it's actually by Riviera Maison? I also think it might not have been an actual trophy but more so just a decorative piece? (I also found it on the Dutch Marketplace described as a wine cooler) Does anyone have any insight on it? Thanks in advance!

3rd photo shows corrosion, which rarely happens on non ferrous metals.
It looks brass on the outer surface.
I think this item has been gilded or painted.
    Does it attract a magnet.

I think that would be it. I did some searching and found Riviera Maison, a Dutch firm, has a 'Polo Club' line:

    https://www.bedsupply.eu/dekbedovertrek-riviera-maison-polo-club-zwart-flanel.html
The Polo Cup 1924 is probably a wine cooler from the 'Polo Club' line.
You can give it a bit of a clean and use it to cool dry white wine on one of the nice summer evenings we are experiencing now.:) Or use this as a selling line.:D

It seems I used a magnet that wasn't strong enough, I used a stronger one and you were right! I don't know if the cup is though. It reacts strongly to the sides and bottom piece, but doesn't stick to the cup. Thank you for the information!

Good googling is an art.:artist: Some people on this forum are real stars at it. My forte generally lies elsewhere, so I just muddle along and get lucky sometimes.:)
