Featured Marbles

Found these recently. Anything good here? Thanks!

 

Would say several of the glass ones with the swirly patterns are the most collectible in that bunch -- they're older... the transparent ones with the "cat's-eye" folds inside less so -- they're of more recent manufacture... several look like plastic... but no expert here, so recommending these two excellent forums for marbles (bookmark 'em!):

the tool for making mass series was called "Märbelschere" and invented in Lauscha, Thuringia. in German a marble is a Murmel...

Thanks for these resources. I checked them out. In case anyone else is interested, I got an insecure website message for allaboutmarbles, and the site wanted me to download some software to register. Marbleconnection was much easier to sign up to, and someone got back to me quickly. It seems I have Cat's eyes, West Virginia Swirls, an Akro Corkscrew (The big red and green one), a Peltier Muddy (the larger tan one with green stripes), and maybe an Alley Green Giant (sent him more pics on that big green one with white stripes).
