Featured Small glass bowl - nymphs - origin?

High relief nymphs on this little bowl - good detail - there are 4 seam marks on the outside top, base doesn't have the seam marks. I guess this is kind of Lalique "style" - maybe czech? Can't find any marks. Hard to see from the pics but the base does have quite a bit of wear on it. With this type of bottom, would it have sat in some kind of holder/base? 3 1/2" wide, 1 3/4" high. Sorry - pics are coming - hit create thread prematurely.

Malachite Glass
Czechoslovakian - 1930s I believe, but going on memory here.

Check out Desna.

 

The general keyword for this is malachite glass. I believe it has been reproduced at some point, and possibly currently.

Your piece may not be one of the ones reproduced, but I don't know. I think I remember seeing a list somewhere. Perhaps someone else will know.

It is a lovely bowl, I love the malachite swirls. I don't know if it is old or new.

On the right is my Czech malachite glass perfume bottle (from another thread), my grandmother got it in the 1920s.


Apparently there are a lot of repros and fakes. Last week I heard it is also being reproduced/faked in China. Of course.

 

There is a whole lot of Repro's out there. Brought the price way down.
