Hand forged? cutting tool - is there a name for this type tool?

I believe these are hand forged & the mark is the maker's name. Is there a name for this type tool?

They are 11 1/2" long.

BTW if you can't help with this item I have multiple other items listed for ID help today.

Perhaps a pruner or lopper?

 

Garden shears on this side of the Atlantic. Same beastie. If the blades are sharp they're often used to cut roses and the like.

 

I actually have a pair of this type of garden tool out in my garage. These are quite sharp & I can imagine they would do a good job cutting smaller branches.

 

With handles that long, I would call them pruning shears rather than secateurs.

 

Spring or no spring, I couldn't wield something that size with one hand & would use them for woodier stems & small branches, i.e., pruning, hence...

 

I think I will put both words in the title to cover all of the bases.

 

Actually I just tried it & even with my gnarled arthritic hands I could operate very easily with one hand.

 

Do you use the pistol to trim branches?

 

Davey, I would call yours Hedge clippers or trimmers......
