    Hmmm, good point.

What really changed my mind, was that there was no attempt to indicate scales on a mermaid tail, even though there is other definition when it comes to the head, ie. hair, ears, eyes.

I'd love to think it is a mermaid though.

Hehe - hard to believe these little items are getting so much attention. In the light of day (with some sleep to clear my eyes and mind), it does look more like loose hair than a ponytail, as suggested by AJ, and I should not use the logic that hanging from her hair doesn't make sense when considering that they're, ummm, plastic novelties. And should have considered that I've always been limber, so even with my rotator cuff damage, the PT exercise that resembles what I perceived is relatively easy for me (unfortunately, other moves are still a bit difficult) - and that she is a side-view of a 'pin-up' pose. Personally, doubt she is a mermaid, to my untrustworthy eye, looks like feet, pointed and positioned for spearing the drink garnish...

Here are some like her, a French seller listed as "Made in France" new/old stock from the '70s, another "Made in France", and the last, "Made in Hong Kong" (marks found on the arm):

You can see from the direction of her hair on the side of her head that the hair is loose at the back.

I was amazed that I can still get my arm up & reach down to probably the 2nd or 3rd thoracic vertebrae. :jawdrop::p:rolleyes:

Speaking of being amazed my mother was probably about my age when one of my brothers doubted that she could bend over & put the palm of her hand flat on the floor. She shut him up a few seconds later when she proceeded to do it right then & there. :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious: I haven't tried it but I doubt very much that I would be able to match that endeavor. :p:p:p

Just checked, and I can still put my palms flat on the floor, as could my Mom, well into her senior years - to be truthful, sort of figured we just both had long arms.

A high school friend was what we always called 'double-jointed', she could do things like reach around the back of her head and put her hand over her mouth, put her hands on her hips and touch her elbows in front, bend her thumbs down to touch her arms, and all sorts of other oddness - very entertaining stuff back then...

I decided to try it & I can get my fingertips down but there is no way in hell the palms are going to touch the floor surface.:facepalm::bag::bag::bag::bag:

I can, after a few years of working my way down. But 2MC frequently threatens to set a cat on my back while I am down there.
    This is a weird thread.........

It certainly is. People talking about what they could do in their younger years, when it is supposed to be about a couple of sexy cocktail picks.

    :woot::angelic::hilarious::playful:;)

We have been known to take threads in directions that no one would have ever thought possible. ;) :p :rolleyes::rolleyes: :playful::playful: :D

That is one of the greatest things about this site. The mods are not going to interrupt the fun & admonish everyone to stay on topic. You really feel like you are sitting around talking to a bunch of your friends who all have similar interests but have all lived sometimes totally different lives.:happy::happy:

it is supposed to be about a couple of sexy cocktail picks.

Once someone starts a new thread ......there are no rules as to where it can lead, and as you'll notice..the picks have been identified more than once , so the job's been done..........then..well...let the fun begin !!!!:playful::playful::playful:

I agree, not a mermaid. Had they been, I would have tried to incorporate them into a shadowbox along with some seashells, etc., since I am now in Florida.

In fact, the set you posted above is not that far from me. I could even see my dearly deceased grandmother on my dad's side using them. She was a real party person.
