Boar's tooth/tusk, I suspect. Too large for tiger claw.

Boar tusk....not from north america.....

 

Billy, there are also a lot of boar's tusk amulets coming out of China.

 

Indian, probably. Not NA anyhow, and as it's a boar, perfectly saleable.

I had a tigers tooth from India. Found out the gold it was mounted in was 22 karat. It was less than half of yours
At 350 dollars it went to the foundry.

I have a tiger---Shark.. tooth covered in gold that I wear on holidays...reminds me of the US Virgin Islands where I bought it.....
on my honeymoon......that I can forget..!

 

I'd agree, boar (or warthog, same thing); not a protected species; and looks like India would be a possible origin.
