I bought this in an estate sale and wnatto know more about it. It is 14" tall, made of heavy cereamic. It appears to have been turned, but there isn't any marks on it I can see. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Kirby

I am getting a modern import vibe from this one. Possibility that I am wrong so let other weigh in on it.

    Welcome to the site Kirby.
A few of the rectangles appear to be pierced right through the body of the clay. If that's the case, it wouldn't hold water and may be intended for display of plumed grasses or bullrushes, giving it a 1970's vibe to me.

I think the base would hold water.

Welcome Kirby! Like Sandra I'm getting a mid-century vibe. It appears to be a hand made piece most likely by a studio potter. I'm going to assume it's a US potter but without a signature it's going to be difficult to figure out with any certainty the who, what, and when. I believe it's purpose is primarily decorative. It has a coolness factor about it that I think is rather charming.
