Hi all,I hope its okay if I combine it into one post ? I picked up these 2 chalices, and coffee pots (note they are right and lefties!) for no other reason than they were cheap ! I need chalices or even coffee pots like a hole in the head, but arent they pretty ? :) The coffee pots are 9 inches high, the chalices are 6. The only info I found on Nobleman was they went out of business around 2000,and I cant find anything on Annapolis pewter chalices ? Any input is always appreciated.

21A25D09-20AB-4364-AB53-41C10A6D24D0.jpeg I think it might be the name of a gift shop. But just a guess, wait for other suggestions.

Did you see there's a gift shop called that in Annapolis?

They probably thought of a chalice for the original design, after the name of the shop.
Chalices and goblets are similar, it is just that we tend to use the word chalice for religious or ritual purposes.
If I translate both into Dutch it seems a chalice is a footed vessel in general, and a goblet has to have a stem as well. That would make yours chalices. I don't know if this is how native speakers of English feel about the distinction between the two. It is probably one of those things where it is different for different people.:)

I have heard people here in the Netherlands order a drink by saying "doe mij maar een kelkje" - just give me a little chalice.:D (Many things are diminutive in Dutch.)

Always a fountain of information! Thank you so much ! Here when we hear "chalice" we think church or renaissance fair! For less than $10 for both pairs,I HAD to buy them. What Im going to do with them is a whole other story. :)

    Start your own church?
A Medieval/Renaissance Revival festival, with jousting, etc?
    Have a wild drinking orgy?
Or just have them on display and enjoy looking at them?
    Ok, none of my business.:)

I might not drink wine out of those, unless you know for sure they're lead-free. I bought two marble wine glasses myself not long ago for similar reasons, i.e. they were too pretty and too cheap to pass up.
