So, I went back to the house to do some more inventory today. It was getting late when I got to this lamp and unfortunately I didn't get many clear pics due to the lighting. The wings of the dragonflies are raised on the ends and the bronze work across their bodies is raised above the surface of the glass too. Looks like it was rewired at some point. I probably won't make it back over to the house until Sunday evening, but the suspense is killing me. Is it possible this one is real or can it quickly be ruled out as a fake?

Would the base be marked too? She put felt on the bottom of everything.

Iā€™m not sure, unless someone else knows offhand. I would think they would also be marked.
You should try to look at some before you go to the house. Look for a reliable website. Unless someone pops in with advice.

I don't know anything about Tiffany lamps, but I do know they are BEAUTIFUL and I have always admired them.

Yes it is quite possible it is real.

    From a 2010 auction:
Prices may have fallen since then.

"The top lot of the sale was #4, a 17ā€³ blue Dragonfly table lamp ā€” a stunning example on a killer matching Dragonfly mosaic base. Estimated to sell for $300-500,000, it brought $554,500, near the high estimate."

From the quality of items you have been showing, it appears to be a high quality estate. You said you were helping by doing the inventory. Don't know if family members are going to be dividing, buying or if the estate has to be sold off.

I've never dealt with auction houses. Others are better suited to advise on that.

If your lamp is indeed Tiffany and likely to bring that type of money, you might want to consider getting someone from a high end auction house to come and cherry pick items for a higher dollar return.

Others are probably better suited to advise which auction houses.

Keep asking questions, we love to help and enjoy seeing nice things.

Oh my!!! Thank you all so much. I'm going to be on pins and needles all weekend!!! Can't wait to get back and take some more pics.

As far as the estate goes, her will states that everything is to be sold. She had no siblings or children. My FIL (her cousin & close friend) is the executor. It's been a joy to get to have "hands on" time with the beautiful things that she surrounded herself with.

Doesn't scream fake to me. If it is a fake, it is a very good one.

In my opinion the glass color and as mentioned above, quality of the lead work is below Tiffany standards. One would also look at the sockets - are they period early 20th century sockets of the brand used by Tiffany - what does it say 'Sanberg' on the paddle switch ? (Don't like the way those sockets look). I've seen many decent signed fakes - some are pretty darn convincing. Ultimately, if it's shown to a reputable antique lamp dealer - they'll know in 10 seconds what it is.

    Stated in the original post.
If so, then the sockets may have been replaced.

The green felt needs to come off the bottom. Try a hair dryer (medium heat) to loosen the glue. That may be enough to pull the felt, might need a razor blade(just be careful not to scratch). Then use lighter fluid, goop off or similar to clean the rest of the residue.
