Need help on a group of Dressen Figurine

Hello, I found the follow figurines from a local estate sale.
I wonder if anyone has any idea of the age, and name of those figurines?

AND the 4th one in from the left on the Google search that @anundverkaufen gave you....on 1st Dibs, rather looks just like your FIRST one showing....but keep in mind, 1st Dibs tends to be “out there” in their prices!!!!!

 

Those are fantastic . The prices they bring are astounding. What a find ! The second one seems to be referencing the Chinese Opium war .

in plain English: 1st Dibs' prices are very inflated, way over-priced so don't expect to sell your item for anywhere close to their asking prices.

Actually by checking the sold price online, the 1st pair of figurines in good shape for $1200 seems still reasonable.

 

is there any serious expertised listing outside the Anglo-Saxon realm ?
they do not show the quality of "Sächsische Porzellan-Manufaktur Dresden".

 

Here are some that have sold at auction in the UK They may be smaller than yours.

 

Does that actually say Dresden or is it just fuzzy?. My eyes aren’t as good as they once were!. The es looks vague but I know less than nothing about Dresden!

Röntgen is - as usual - not only incomplete but doesn't mention that the VEB marks were GDR marks only; it seems his only goal was to take advantage of his job as radio-journalist that was allowed to travel around in the GDR freely and collect information about the most wellknown factories like Meissen and many others that were in the communist zone..
furthermore already Carl Thieme had other marks.

 

Sorry Fid, my old edition of Rontgen's is the only one I have that seemed relevant as no other examples of the mark were given to the OP. Can't vouch for any author and am always open to better reference material. Where did you find the example of the marks for future reference?

when they write on wiki germany what I copied and translated, then I normally know there's more to it.
I researched and fell on a page of Waltraud Neuwirth - an absolute authority for Wiener Secession and Jugendstil and everything that was behind the iron curtain. she seems to have investigated about "fake" Vienna marks - Bindenschilds etc. - and seems to have found that Thieme in Pottschappel was one of the fakers.

 

So this lady, seems to have produced quite a lot of volumes on a range of subjects. I imagine all in German.

I was "musing" about the quality of the shown figures; the discussion about the marks is a different topic.

 

she was in the right place at the right time. born 1941, therefore not "belasted" by the Austrian history and as a woman she didn't have to prove what she's done during the Third Reich. especially Vienna had a longlasting history of anti-semitism and the universities were really "cleansed" of all Jews, Socialists etc..
then comes her openness towards the simple people when starting to investigate for fakes of Vienna porcelain by inviting the public to bring forward their stuff to get it tested for free - a thing that no university academic would have done before her.
it seems her open mind opened many doors to hidden museum and private collections; and she was a hard worker and had her own head.
as for English - we don't have to forget that on the continent not many people spoke English till the 70s; in Austria it was still French that had status character.

 

No disrespect meant about the German language, just that I don't speak it. I do have at least one reference book in German as well as a a few in other languages I don't speak and it's always a challenge to get the true meaning.

(I did teach myself French to the level of about a toddler though have moved on to Gaelic for now.)
