No they are stocky, muscular, calm, loving and although, they talk, it's kind of like a baby. I buy my cats for personality, not looks. I take them camping and they travel with me everywhere when I'm gone for more than a day. They come when they are called, are leashed trained and they hike with me. I think breeders ruined Siamese cats by creating an appearance of exotic. They breed out their personality in favor of colors (points) and long legs and faces. In my mind, they ruined a wonderful companion animal. It's hard to find a traditional Siamese. There are very few breeders. While I could adopt stray cats, it is the dog like personality of traditional Siamese that make them great travel pets and I camp two months every year. That's probably more than you wanted to know, but all Siamese are not awful.

If you want color check out these Heisey colors - Moongleam (green), Sahara (yellow), Alexandrite (purple) & Flamingo (pink).

I have always been drawn to Heisey & I love to run my fingers across the surface of their pieces. Once you feel that absolutely smooth surface you will know what good glass feels like.

Point of interest. None of the glass in the cabinets above that is iridized (Carnival) was made by Heisey. If it is so marked it is phony. I won't state out loud that Heisey made no Carnival Glass, someone may find a real piece, but it hasn't been found yet.

Good to know. If I see something with the diamond H and it is carnival, I will avoid it.

1503 Crystolite....1937 - 1957. Crystolite was introduced in the spring of 1937, was popular for a few years. Then when WWII interrupted glass manufacture in this country, (taking skilled workers off to war) the less skilled workers were able to continue making some pressed glass, Crystolite, included. It continued to be in catalogs until the factory closed in 1957. Imperial Glass bought the Heisey plant, lock, stock and molds, and did make some Crystolite into the 1970s. both with and without the Diamond H. They ceased using the mark (Diamond H) after the Heisey Collectors explained to them that they were interfering with the collect-ability of "Real" Heisey. (I'm not sure of the date....) Maybe about 1970. (Cited from:

Thank you so much for the detailed explanation. It is fascinating and adds greatly to my appreciation of this lovely object. It is certainly luscious glass and it catches my eye whenever I walk past it. It also tells me of the pride of the Heisey employees that they would struggle to keep their vision of glass making alive through those difficult 20 years of their existence.

The carnival fish were made by Fenton and the toothpicks look like Imperial Glass. Can't see the others well enough to say. The only Crystolite in that photo is the clear glass on the far right side, maybe 3 pieces.

Heisey glass is my very favorite of the old glass. So clear and shining and made so well. Crystolite is also one of my fave patterns. I used to lust after a Crystolite cake stand, but it's out of my system now. I have 2 cake stands and an untold number of glass and porcelain cake plates. And I don't use them all that much any more.
