I purchased this piece to learn what material is used in this 3-D Pagoda. Can anyone enlighten me ? What is the proper term to describe this piece?

It is Chinese, and Hunting is right, it is cork art.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Interesting framing choice. Too bad the frame is damaged but it might be able to be touched up.

It's interesting that you bought it because you wanted to learn something about it. I've done that sort of thing before, too.

Thanks for the information. There are so many different examples of cork carving, some framed, some under glass domes etc. And yet in my 77 years this is the first one that I noticed.
