I'm not well-versed in these kind of boxes. It's a lacquered box, about 3" diameter with a very unusual lithograph or possibly painted picture affixed to it. The names to the right appear to be Italian towns or locations. I had originally thought Napoleon when I purchased this, but I don't think so now. History buffs will probably know what this scene is supposed to represent. I welcome and thank you for your time and comments! IMG_2410.jpg IMG_2411.jpg IMG_2412.jpg IMG_2414.jpg IMG_2415.jpg

Napoleon & his most famous battles, which you can confirm with a quick internet search.

Thanks to both of you! Guess my first instinct was correct. That information is very helpful. Do you feel this is a Stobwasswer box, of German origin, or is it French since it deals with Napoleon? How old is it, maybe 1850s? Again, thank you so much for your help.

You're going to have to post additional photographs if you have additional questions about your item.

What kind of additional photographs would you need? Here are a few more. Do these give enough info? Thanks. IMG_2416.jpg IMG_2417.jpg IMG_2419.jpg

It would be helpful to see the bottom, the inside and a close up of any chips.

Your close ups of the chips are blurred.
Does it appear to be clay or cardboard?

Hi, it's made of cardboard, really more like papier mache, and is about 3" in diameter. Thanks!

I think you should visit a good auction house that has connections to France and Germany. A short resarch resarch in seious auction houses in Germany alrady show results in the four
digit range with unknown maker. I would rather tend to go to a Paris salesroom due Napoleon being on high demand there.

Thanks Fid, and everyone else, too! Very helpful info. I don't think the value is four figures, but I think it's a nice, unusual image.
