Hi everyone, it's been a while. Long story short, I have sold two property's and brought one at the same time wouldn't recommend it haha. Anyway I'll be posting a few things up and the first one is this tobacco pipe, I think it's vintage and hand carved. not sure of date and what it is carved out of (no markings that I can see of). I assume it would have been expensive in it's day as it's got its own leather and velvet inner lined casing and it fits perfect in the casing so I assume it's its original casing. It has a bit of damage where the mouth piece is joined to the carving, would it be worth getting it repaired and does anyone have any info on it?
    Thanks everyone

Probably C. 1900 Meerschaum pipe, possibly Austrian, the source of many like it. Probably not possible to get the amber stem repaired.

You should be able to find many similar to get an idea of price, knock about a quarter off for the damage.
On ebay look for sold items, items for sale are often there because the prices are too high. You will not find one identical, just look for similar.
My impression is that Meerschaum pipe prices have dropped a chunk in the last few years.

    She is beautiful.
She could represent Flora, or be based on a portrait of a well-known beauty ca 1800.

Thanks afantiques  Good info, I have been looking on eBay and your right all tobacco related items have dropped in price as you know smoking is no longer desirable. Thanks again for the good info.
