This is an vintage sketched, hand painted Bambi picture that I got a while ago at the thrift store. The visable part of the sketch in the matt measures about 13 1/4" x 9 1/2". It's signed "BH", does anyone know who BH is or anything else about this sketch? Thanks for any info.

I suggest you take it out of the frame to see if anything is written on the back.

Ok, I've taken off the back and it has the name Brenda Haywood and it's numbered #1106. There is also some info on the tape that hold it to the matt. On the back of the frame it's initialed "SB".

OMG. When I saw the name, I thought it was a coincidence - kind of a common name. I've met her at a couple of events here on the Cape. Very interesting indeed.

interesting to me that #1106 appears, as if suggesting that its a series for commercial sale. Must've been back in the day when Disney didn't care... because:

    1) I will say this is NOT Disney quality (i.e., cels) and not consistent with cel production art.
    2) Disney decided to sue a cross stitch artist for copyright infringement a few years ago for commercially selling her xstitch (guess it got too big for Disney to stomach).

#1106 might even be some kind of original designation for Disney art that was just put there for reference by the artist just to remind herself of the source.

    Some leads, for thought.
