Looks to be brass (maybe copper in the curved section?) with a timber base. Could it be Bauhaus or maybe French deco? No markings I can find. Measures 16cm high. Any idea on region, period, maker and materials appreciated. 6B5FEF63-C74F-4976-852E-BD0A7D588680.jpeg

Just curious but have you put a magnet on it?

the form was introduced by Albert Reimann for Chase Brass & Copper Co. but seems to be a later remake.
they had it listed as deco in their 1933 catalog.
the Bauhaus influence is seen on many items of Reimann in these years, but recognized probably as such only after some Dessau cracks fled to the US later.

Thanks @Fid - similar in style although mine less refined perhaps and with round bolt heads and timber base. Perhaps someone copying the general idea?

it's a bit quizzical. some people even bring in some queer allusions to old moorish candlesticks. yours seems to be sturdier with material that was probably more available during wartime, so eventually from the 40s or later.
sadly, the archives of the Reimann-schools in London and Berlin were destroyed - once by the Luftwaffe once by the RAF...
in the Berlin Reimann-Schule there was a special metal department with some capable teachers - perhaps those were also involved in the basic idea.
