Just took a pic of my modest collection of pens and stuffs to show my FB friends so I thought I'd share with my friends here too xx

I have gathered these over the years. I don't collect them but pick them up if they catch my eye x x
Think the three smaller ones are chatelaine pencils and pen?

Hope you like my teeny collection x

Thank you <3 I am very keen on them.

I don't actively collect them ... but things in this house tend to reproduce somehow  I have one of something and next thing I have several dozen without even trying

**If one is good, two is better and three better still** xx

Victorian-era propelling pencils. Very neat. I have a few of these in ivory and silver. Some with matching pens.

Sorry to disagree, but you have more than 3 of the same object so according to the "rules" you are a collector of the object & have a collection. ;):p:rolleyes::D:D:D:D

    Nice collection!!!! :happy::happy::happy:

Its funny how things sorta reproduce, isnt it? Speaking of small silver bits,Ive been trying to find a miniature silver sword that I apparently stashed somewhere ( I have a bad habit of tucking things in boxes and drawers) so far no luck ! Love your NON collection. :)

Can you still get lead for some of the older propelling pencils? I have a sterling one that was my grandfather’s, but the lead in it is much thicker than what one sees in today’s propelling pencils.

Nice collection. Thanks for sharing. I have a small collection myself. Cross, Wahl, Parker, I buy the gold filled ones anytime I can get them on the cheap.

btw- If 3 equals a collection then I have waaaaay too many different collections of things. [IMG] Possible hoarder status, lol.

Split the wood on a modern pencil and remove the graphite, it is usually quite thick.

I get an incredible amount of modern ballpoint and fountain pens from house clearances.
    I don`t throw them away.
The fountains get sold and the ballpoints get used.
I supply my family and friends with them, I have at least one in each room and in each car and each jacket so I`m never too far away from a pen.:D

    Some on my desk.

I found this in reply to your question regarding the lead in older mechanical pencils.

Love the pencils! Do you collect other writing paraphernalia like ink wells?

I've started a teeny collection too-- of samovars. I'm not quite sure how it's happened.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. :p:p:p That has happened to just about everyone here at one point or another. ;):rolleyes::oops::D:D:D:D

@BoudiccaJones - As you can see you are in very good company here because we all have these little mini-collections in our lives & yes the plural form was the correct in this case. ;) :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

    Thank you :)

Haha, unfortunately not quite teeny. The tallest one is 22", and if I buy anymore, I'm going to have to find a new place to store them. :p Seriously tempted to though; I've been keeping my eyes open for a painted one.
Haha, a few years ago it was owls for me then candle snuffers. Looking forward to see what I start collecting next. ;) Do you collect anything?
