It has a 14k clasp (can't figure out the mark though) and 14k beads, along with cloisonne beads and green and yellow beads. The green and yellow beads appear to be jade (?) maybe. The pendant the same I think, it's hard to tell because the beads are so small in comparison but I believe it is the same material. I see a dragon or maybe a bull or some other beast with horns on either side of his head. The strand is not individually knotted. Any thoughts or info. on this piece? Thanks in advance.

Lovely necklace, Diggum. I think the symbol after 14K could be a G, for goldfilled.

The blue-green beads are green aventurine quartz.

Agreed. The yellow could well be jade, I'm not expert enough to be sure, but those green beads are aventurine. The Chinese did and still do goofy combinations, so it wouldn't surprise me if the yellow really is jade and they used cheap aventurine in place of the green kind.

Thanks for the replies. Aventurine quartz it is then. As far as the G after 14k goes, I'm pretty sure it's a manufacturer's mark. Probably for the clasp versus the maker of the necklace. It's been acid tested and is not gold filled. It's a strange little necklace.

I have come across Chinese goldfilled with just a G behind the K. You can come across anything with Chinese jewellery. But if Diggum says not goldfilled, I'm sure he is right.

I agree with aventurine for the green beads. There are sparkles, so aventurine.
The yellow jade could be nephrite jade, but it could be calcite as well. Calcite is sometimes sold as 'cloudy jade'.
Whatever the materials, it is a lovely necklace, and it has some age.
And that little clasp has a huge responsibility.;)
