American war print beginning or ending celebrations of a war help ID the scene

    This is a vintage War ending or beginning celebration parade looks like. What war is it from?

    Thanks Jivvy and Debora this print
    has been sitting in the Salvation Army for about 3 months I wanted to ask about it on the forum 3 months ago but it slipped my mind I ran across it the other day again so I took a couple of images and now finally the puzzle has been solved thank you guys very much.
    Yes the back of it looks like it may be from the Victorian days it's kind of old thanks

    , I would like to get it but I really don't have anywhere to put it I would hate to see that see it go to the dumpster and I know what it's about the 4th of July I think I might pick it up if they're not asking too much for it lot of military people around Patriots that might be interested in it probably take me to three years to find someone who wants it.

    It is very colorful the Reds and blues to Greens damage was taken with under fluorescent lights so there's a lot of glare from the glass so you really can't see the really deep colors.

    I decided to poke about and see if the buildings in this piece had been identified. First page I landed on was the Smithsonian bio of Howland that included this bit: "Howland's paintings invariably focused on the rustic New England countryside and its inhabitants, depicting farmers, Fourth of July paraders in their old fashioned clothing, and rearranging locally identifiable buildings to suit his boyhood memories."

    I then decided that further research wasn't worth the effort. :cat:
