    To me it looks too fresh to be older than the fifties but I'm no expert.

    My first thought was hobbyist,and not a terribly skilled one.I was surprised to see its manufactured!

    I agree Made in Japan in the Capodimonte style.
    It was copied from the Italian wares.
    1960s-70s Trinket box.
