Just want to make sure there’s nothing more valuable than an average vintage cut glass decanter here before I let them go? The tall one appears unmarked. The short ones have a number sloppily etched into the base and stopper. Looks like 38 and 39 respectively. I guess just to match the stopper to the right bottle? While nice I’m not seeing anything that puts them above average. Am I missing anything? 0B7F3D68-1B01-4EFF-BF5A-D5052390339B.jpeg FC1543EE-4106-4474-98A3-64B6771125DE.jpeg

I had someone coming to pick up an item I had for sale last week. Of course as they were on the way I couldn’t find it. Was tearing the house apart. In process had moved a large painting with a heavy frame and some vases. Looking for item for sale I moved a box forgetting the painting was now leaning against that box. Conveniently it fell, knocked over and broke a vase. Luckily it didn’t go through the canvas just the frame hit it. However the vase was worth more literally and sentimentally than the $ I was getting for the item I was selling. Ughhhh. Long story long I’m surprised the tall one has made it this far in my place too.

Tantalus decanters are usually square or ocasionally oblong. And tend to have fancy bottoms and plainer tops. Those look like fairly standard Edwardian ones, which isn't to denigrate them. Numbers are to match stoppers, yes.

It just occurred to me that I bought two sterling liquor tags the other day. Maybe I’ll stick them on the short ones if I don’t get a good price and see if they sell better that way.

I thought they were made for me to stick in a box and look at once a year or so. :)

Definitely not school appropriate. Surely exactly what some cats are thinking though.

*ALL* cats think like that. It's part of their ineffableness.
