I believe sale organizers bring those plastic shelves so that they can spread out the home owners things that are normally stacked and in closets, boxes, etc.

To accumulate that much you would need to be prolific for a long period of time and have quite a bit of disposable income. I've seen a few estates at auction that were from prominent doctors, lawyers, executives and engineers and they usually have good taste for collectables and the ability to spend freely on the things they enjoy.
Regular auction attendees also tend to have good estates since they are typically not paying retail for the items they purchase.

Thx for posting, I zipped past those pictures just like I used to zip past booths in antique markets, very few made me even slow down. Here are the only ones where I opened the picture link, and I won’t be bidding on any, just curious!

As it turns out I am going to Madison, GA Friday to visit a high school friend and figured this estate is about 1 hour away. Moved my trip up a few days and guessing if things go well, We will be at this sale.

So please, please, please, if any one sees anything worth my consideration, I would sincerely appreciate a private message an a image if possible. We are traveling by car so no big furniture. My fear would be getting some of the crap mentioned out here. I am hoping to come away with multiple items. Many thanks...

    Wish me luck :)

Does anyone else think that the vases in picture 254 have potential? They kind of remind me of Rookwood vellum. That would be a huge potential score if they were.

I don't know what they are but they look like nice pieces. There is lots of interesting pieces, I would love to be able to go and have a look at everything.

I've love a rummage through the "costume" jewelry if there is any. If you hit a dealer who doesn't know what they're doing all sorts of unmarked sterling and gold bits find their way into the costume pile! The stuff in the photos will probably be priced at silly money.

So the Hoepfinger estate hired an auctioneer and they picked out their top choices, and that is being combined with an ambassador's stuff into an auction on the 11th. The estate sale is what is left behind after the auctioneer's pickings - probably some nice stuff if you dig and if the prices are good. After the estate sale the rest is probably going to a local thrift store. That would be worth looking through too since there will probably be a lot unsold at the estate sale.

There are several different auction houses here in town. One of them has a certain price point that they won't go below. When they get a consignment that has things that does not fit their business model they call the auction house where I work. This works out well for everyone as the stuff they don't take is often some very nice items that the auctions does very well with & makes a lot of money for the auction house as well as the estate.

Both are owned by the same group, I think. Most of the auction items are from the ambassadors collection. A few of Betty & Dick's things may be too valuable to have sitting out in an estate sale.
Both will be interesting. Hope you make it Marco.

They live in Marietta, GA, a northwest subburb of Atlanta. 18 miles from me! I am going tomorrow if only to see all this stuff. I'm sure the prices are really high the first day! Too bad I don't know much about these things (except the SW rugs and jewelry).
