Does anyone know what this carved wood piece might be? Our family has had it for over 50 years. It was probably purchased as an antique in the midwest or New England in the late 60s or so. It is 43"H x 6"W. The bottom of it is unfinished and looks like a milled piece of lumber. It has no markings or signature. Thoughts?

Jesus didn't hold the 10 Commandments either! Moses is offended.

it is a loose reproduction or, better said, an interpretation of a Medieval religious carving. They can also be found with more dimensionality and polychromed. Typically date to the advent of mass tourism in the 1960s. Most often they came from Spain.

Thanks, Debora! Any idea on value or how to research the value? I've looked on-line but everything else I see is much smaller - tabletop size 12-16".

Forgive my candor but... Given your figure was mass produced, is not antique, and has condition issues, it's MHO that the value would be sentimental only.
