Charity shop find

Hi, found this lovely pin in a charity shop yesterday.
It's marked with a crown for Sheffield and 9ct.
Does anyone know if the town marks are the same as for silver?
I've googled but can't find any confirmation of this.
If it is - the shape of the crown and the cartouche match the silver Sheffield town mark used from 1844 to 1867.
There's no maker's mark or date mark and googling 9ct Sheffield golf club brooch/pin I can't come up with anyone who made these.

That 9 ct mark is common in the late 19th and up to the 30s. Crown just means gold in this instance. I'd think your brooch is 20s ish, when golf was such a craze.

 

I'd think 1920s too. Golf a craze and one of the few sports women could play.
