    I purchased a lot of jewelry for $20, and this was in it. It is very lightweight, and I am seeing amber. Does anyone know what type? Thanks for your help.

    Good question. No idea. Not antique - 1970s or later. Beyond that I'd need to see the clasp.

    They're not junk; I'd restring them by themselves, probably knotting as I went.

    I agree, decent modern amber beads.

    Caveat.

    ALL amber is of course millions of years old.

    Thanks all. I am spending hours sorting this $20 lot into yard sale jewelry, keep/ vintage jewelry, and craft jars. Filled two pickle jars and a big Peach jam jar. Holding on to the amber.
