Google Books sometimes also displays whole books with illustrations...

I realize I posted sites that give you more than just info on artists, but also on art work. Should I have posted them in a new thread, or should we perhaps change the title of this thread to something like "Art and Artists Lookup Reference"?

This website helped me a lot without multi-browsing dozens of websites. Its good for valuations of paintings and much more.

Www.YouValYou.com shows pictures and past auction results for well listed artists.

It works exactly like www.artnet.com or artprice.com but this one is for FREE!

This is a reverse image search on Google. I don’t know anything about this and use on a computer but a lady at work used the one on her phone to find a match for a piece of jewelry and it searched and found several matches! https://ccm.net/faq/42141-reverse-image-search-with-google AND

Hi All, some new websites for me to try, thank you. When it comes to 'reverse imaging' to search for an image or artist, Google is an option. But many experience the same tool by Bing to be better. Often mentioned -and also in my experience- the best site to 'reverse image' is Yandex. (it's Russian.) There are a couple of free 'apps' were you can use an image and without effort, go from one of the three search engines above, on to the next. (For instance 'Imagesearch') I find this way of searching for an artist quite useful. And more than once, I have found an artist not on the basis of the initial search, but through 'suggestions' by the search engines.
