what where am i

Found this in a charity shop yesterday for £2

It's large, and I could barely be bothered to carry it, but I do sort of like these type of paintings

I think maybe a student type piece

It's got a title but interested if someone can guess or make it out

 

Sorry I don’t see the title. Only: Grange Cotton Canvas and Made in Finland.

 

I was planning to see if someone could guess but it's not exactly a photographic likeness !!

They also had a song called 'Manhattan Skyline.' And, by way,... Although I suspect a student piece, NYC really looks like that late at night in the rain.

Sure, impasto. I like the use of long verticals and the monochromatic midnight blue treatment of Wall Street buildings and the East River.

Interesting thanks deb, I suppose he could be saying, Manhattan, the sun is always shining when you see it on t.v, but this is how im seeing it

One of my favorite 80s songs ever ! I like the painting,though it is a tad gloomy . It would look great in the right room.
