For presenting cookies at a dinner table after-dinner-mint style?...Christmas cookies?

The dimensions are 21cm high by 17 cm from tail to front and 10cm wide.

it is not a cookie jar. I am certain of that. It would only hold two or three.

The Lille mark is very like it and, it is certainly possible that it is older than I thought - that’s the beauty of ceramics.

Yes that is certainly a possibility. I did consider that too.

 

over time they may have become called cookie jars because cookie jars sell but it does not look like it would hold a batch of cookies. I have a smaller milk glass one that has been in the family for over 65 years certainly not a cookie jar.
