NU Figurine

    Hello everyone,

    I just need to know more about this nu figurine. Its written at the back of the base 6539 and inside there is a crown drawn

    Didn't ask but... just wanted to make sure you knew this type of statue is usually referred to as "Water Bearer."

    Hello, Hulya. For our English speaking members, I think the word you wanted is 'nude'? She's lovely. As Debora said, generically a water bearer. She may be copied from a figure in a fountain or may be the personification of a spring/source. We will do more looking.

    Lovely piece.
    Time period late 1800s.
    Whether she is English or German, I don't know. I can't see the crown mark you are referring to.

    Beautiful face, so a good quality piece.

    Thanks INH. I still can't see it well.

    Wonder if a little cinnamon rubbed in and lightly dusted off would make it show better.
