Featured Porcelain bisque girl plaque

    I haven't been able to find anything quite like this and could use some help. It's bisque porcelain with handpainted background and "frame"-all one piece with a wire hanger. Unmarked. 9.25" diameter and comes out 3.25" from wall. I was thinking French, German or Italian but was hoping for some more knowledgeable input. Thanks

    Very sweet. I know nothing but wouldn't rule out England.

    I got nothing. The only things I can come up with are renaissance bronzes, like Ghiberti's self portrait on the Florence baptistry doors:

    Wonder if it would be considered Parian ware. At least it's real ceramic. There are some similar things out there that look convincingly like marble but that are a man made material by an unknown maker.

    It is from a painting in the Met, the Calmady Children.

    Here's a reconstituted stone piece from a local auction - the 'medal' in the bottom is just in with the mould and painted brown.
